This would be my monster for ~monsterbrigade
TEAM BROWN
YEAAHHHHHH
Seriously you guys. This is an awesome project. You should all go join up.
(and join team brown and pump out lots of sweet brown monstrosities, of course)

BUT ANYWAY.
About my baby, here.

Its not so much one single monster as a species
Loxosceles plagam pupa, nicknamed "Puppeteer Spider" (although they aren't actually spiders)
These little cuties are scavengers that ingest their prey by slow absorption of nutrients directly through their bodies, for lack of an actual mouth. To accomplish this, the puppeteer spider will tear a hole in its food with its sharp horn and footspikes and crawl inside of it, where it secretes a potent venom that dissolves all internal organs to a more palatable liquid mush. However, this is a lengthly process and they prefer to be undisturbed while they complete it, especially because other animals may find the carcass they're inhabiting and consume the puppeteer spider as well as it. To prevent this, they arrange their limbs inside of the animal to form a new skeleton for it, and can move it about as they move themselves (surprisingly quickly, although nothing like the animal moved while it lived). Once inside, the joints nearest to the ends of their feet swell up and the spines on their back stiffen, so that they can not slip out easily until all flesh has been liquified. The biggest drawback of this defense is that while inside an animal, it cannot see, so its only means of defending itself while eating is to feel that the body has been touched or disturbed and then get up and run in some direction, usually directly into its interrupter. Large puppeteer spiders inhabiting human corpses have accounted for numerous false zombie sightings, when a inhabited body is found and examined by other people, and it suddenly seems to spring back to life and runs awkwardly at them, convulsing and flailing and drooling and spitting frothy blood and liquid organs.

It prefers to scavenge, especially when they are young and smaller. But the larger they grow, the more likely they are to seek out living prey and kill it themselves by stabbing it to death. Their size isnt determined by age, but by habitat. If there is a larger amount of smaller prey, it will remain small. It prefers warm, dark, moist spaces and is very sensitive to light and will avoid it at most any costs. They inhabit primarily swampy areas near the equator, although small puppeteer spiders have been known to inhabit areas with herds of large animals; it can burrow into a living large animal and live there until the host eventually dies, and then it simply moves to another.

It has six eyes, three on each side of the top of its head. The first and third set of legs are for walking, and the second set is for both aiding in tearing flesh and in hanging on. The "stomach" section of their body can grow new segments much like a tapeworm and thus lengthen it to better fit inside its prey. The ends of its legs, horn, and spines are hard and sharp, but the rest of its body is very soft and vulnerable. They can range in size from two inches to four feet in length.

I spend way too much time thinking about things while I'm drawing them.
Also, what the fuck is wrong with me.

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
That is a brilliantly creepy monster idea. Bravo :D
Looks kinda like the Cloverfield monster, minus a big toothy mouth...and it's smaller.

the idea is to love life
write happy thoughts with invisible ink
to dream more in color
it forces the sad reality out
This is pretty much the coolest monster ever. T_T I love the idea of it crawling into the body and controlling it - the nickname makes sense! Loving the tones of brown here too...

My adorable icon was made by ~LaPonchi
i don't think there's anything wrong with you. the idea is really amazing and on par with many "professional" monster ideas i've encountered up till now. great job! :aww:

Unf, I wish I was more eloquent so I could poeticly compliment you and use other words besides cool, awesome and amazing.
